Took me about 20 minutes to kinda-sorta-maybe figure out where he was listening. After a bunch of failed attempts and a lot of jumping around, I found a spot to sit on, called a few times, and he came back to me. One band (40m) down! I expect things will simmer down after a few days. Hang in there!
I'll try in last few days to work K1N as I am doing for all dxpeditions. Its sad that dxpeditions do n't give a chance to qrp stations or stations without linears. 73
I've worked them on four bands so far. The secret is to get up early. My contacts were about 1000z (5 am), 1100z (6 am) and 0915 and 0930z (4:15-4:30 am).
Being up when everyone else is asleep certain helps to cut down on the crazy.
Dear Larry I suppose, Dxpeditons can arrange short periods, for example 30min or 1 hour per day for calling stations with signals under lets say 57 or 56 etc. if they respect qrp communications. Instead of hunting records of thousand qso's. Unfortunately I am unable to work K1N (with simple antennas and modest power) due to qrm on the frequency caused by other stations deliberatly. 73

ReplyDeleteBrutal...I hear them easily but must wait for the crowd to clear.

The problem is, that even if they asked for only QRP stations, everyone not running QRP would still try.

Of course, that won't work on the high bands....
