It appears the team landed safely on the atoll today, 12 October, 2009; and as soon as day breaks local time, they will begin setting up station K4M. If things go as planned, the team should be on site for ten days.
Just checked the radio and they must be active on 20 Meter CW. The pileup around 14.024 MHz is getting quite fierce!
Good luck and good DX!

The pileup you heard tonight on around 14.024 was actually for OK1FZM/6W on 14.022 listening up a couple. Even though here in NJ his signal was quite strong, apparently a lot of those people weren't listening (he was signing pretty often) and there were tons of spots on the cluster for K4M. The funny part was people were spotting K4M as simplex on 14.024, then split on .022 listening on .024. I don't think they were listening, and while there were probably some in there who were just doing it to be lids, I think there were a bunch of people who will be disappointed to learn that they didn't work K4M. As of the time that I'm writing this (10PM EDT), I don't think K4M has really come on the air yet, but I can just imagine what it's going to sound like when they do.
ReplyDeleteSee you in the pileups!
