Only minor edits to what I sent, so i guess I didn't botch up things too badly, after all.

Actually, if your club is having Field Day, it's not all that hard to get local publicity. Local print and online publications are always looking for content. I conjured up this article all by my lonesome, but if you're not comfortable with your writing skills, the ARRL has resources that you can use:

I used their material as boilerplate for our article last year. I thought with Hurricane Helene and the havoc she caused in the Southeast still so fresh in everyone's mind, that I would write my own article this year. It's not all that different than composing these blog posts.
