Photos

of the completed EARCHI 9:1 UNUN.  Haven't had an opportunity to actually use it - maybe this coming weekend?

This was SO easy to build. If I can do it, YOU can do it.  Attach a 31 foot wire, toss it in a tree and EARCHI says you're good to go anywhere from 40 Meters to 6 Meters (WITH an antenna tuner), no counterpoise needed.

I've been really busy at work, so I haven't been able to do any lunchtime QRP for the past 4 workdays. One more day of being tied up by the phone at lunch and I maybe able to resume on Wednesday.  I was able to get on the bands tonight while taking photos if the UNUN, I worked 5JØR, the San Andres Islands DXpedition and 8PØP in Barbados, both on 30 Meters.

  1. Good morning Larry, very nice photos of the build. There sure is something to be said for building something from scratch and then seeing it work. Do post how it works once you get the time to toss a wire into the trees.

  3. Looks great Larry. You do excellent work. I'm sure that it will work great. I use mine with my Jackite mast as a vertical and have been very happy with the performance. Was the "box" used from your junkbox? If not, I'd love to know where you got it. It looks perfect for this application.

I can't wait to hear how it performs for you.

    Larry,

That looks great. Where did you get the box from? The only box I had available was a large 4"x4"x2" electrical box, but I've been looking for a smaller enclosure. This looks perfect.

Mine also works very well. All I have is the narrow internal tuner in my radio right now and it's good enough to tune 40 and 17-10. For 30 and 20 the SWR in mine is just a bit outside the 3:1 range of an internal tuner.
